If you are looking for the Best Chocolate Covered Pretzels for Easter, you found them! These adorable, no bake treats are simple to make and delicious to snack on.

White chocolate dipped pretzel twists decorated like rabbits and sheep.

    Why you'll love this recipe

These crunchy pretzels are covered in creamy chocolate or white candy melts. Adding sprinkles turns plain, boring pretzels into delightful rabbits and sheep!

Dark chocolate coated pretzels turn into Easter Pretzels with just a dusting of pastel sprinkles or melted chocolate drizzle.

Package a combination of designs in small cellophane bags for a super cute, tasty treat to include in Easter baskets or care packages or on holiday platters.

    Ingredients

Ingredients labeled: food coloring marker, sprinkles, candy eyes, pretzel, white and dark chocolate, food coloring.
    • The candy eyes I used are smaller than the small Wilton eyes. These are 3/16" candy eyes from Amazon.
    • I used dark and white chocolate melting discs. Candy melts, almond bark, or tempered chocolate could also be used. For best results, chocolate chips are not recommended.
    • For pastel colored decorating drizzle, I used white chocolate melting discs with food coloring powder. You could also use colored candy melts.

    Instructions

This is an overview of the instructions. The full instructions are in the recipe card below.

Rabbit instructions; white chocolate coating, pipe white chocolate face, add sprinkle eyes and nose, draw whiskers.
    1. Dip the pretzels in melted white chocolate or candy melts. Tap off excess chocolate a couple of times on the edge of the bowl. Set on a wax paper or parchment paper lined baking tray and chill in the refrigerator until the chocolate is firm (about 3 minutes).
    2. Leave the pretzels on the baking tray. Pipe melted white chocolate or candy melts into the bottom opening on the pretzel twist to form the face. Immediately add sprinkles for the eyes and nose. Chill again until the chocolate is firm (about 2 minutes).
    3. Use a food coloring marker to draw on whiskers.
Sheep instructions; white chocolate coating, cover with sprinkles, add dark chocolate face and ears.
    1. Dip the pretzels in melted white chocolate or candy melts. Tap off excess chocolate on the edge of the bowl. Set on a wax paper lined baking tray with sides. Cover with white nonpareil sprinkles. Chill in the refrigerator until the chocolate is firm (about 3 minutes).
    2. Leave the pretzels on the baking tray. Pipe melted dark chocolate or candy melts into the top opening on the pretzel twist to form the face. Add one chocolate dot on either side of the face.
    3. Using a toothpick, drag an edge of one of the chocolate dots toward the face to form an ear. Repeat on the other side.
    4. Immediately add the candy eyes. Chill again until the chocolate is firm (about 2 minutes).
Instructions for sprinkled or drizzled pretzels; dip in melted chocolate, immediately sprinkle or chill then drizzle.
    1. Dip the mini twists pretzels in melted chocolate or candy melts. Tap off excess chocolate on the edge of the bowl. Set on a wax paper lined baking tray.
    2. Immediately add sprinkles. Chill the drk chocolate pretzels in the refrigerator until the chocolate is firm (about 2 minutes).
    3. Or, chill after coating the pretzels until the chocolate is firm (about 2 minutes). Drizzle with melted colored white chocolate or candy melts.

    Storage and packaging

Store these Easter pretzels at room temperture in an airtight container for up to two weeks.

If adding chocolate pretzels to gift baskets or care packages, seal in small groups in small cellophane bags for freshness and a pretty presentation.

    Tips

    • The sheep and the rabbit pretzels can be coated in white chocolate, melting chocolate discs, easy candy melts, or almond bark.
    • The dark chocolate dipped pretzels can be coated in melting chocolate discs, candy melts or chocolate flavored almond bark.
    • For a glossy finish on the dark chocolate, coat and chill in small batches so that the chocolate firms in the refrigerator not at room temperature.
    • White candy melts work well for coating but will not give a glossy finish.
    • For decorating, use colored candy melts or add coloring to white chocolate.
    • Powdered natural food coloring can be used to color white chocolate or white candy melts.
    • Gel food coloring can be used to color candy melts, but not with white chocolate. Only oil based candy coloring should be used with white chocolate so that the chocolate doesn't seize.
    • For best results, chocolate chips are not recommended for coating.
